Sorting Letters on 4 line mat 1. Introduce the material to the child 2 Bring the movable alphabet box and the 4 line mat to the place of presentation 3 Show the the two blue lines on the mat. 4 Ask the child to take out the letters from the movable alphabet box, tell him that we are going to find all the letters which fit between the 2 blue lines . 5 Take out the letters one at a time if the letter fits between the 2 blue lines place it on the mat but remove it if it doesn't fit for instance a,e,I,o,u,c,m,n,r,s,u,v,w,x,z, tell him that these are the grass letters . 6 Once the child has learned grass letters then introduce Sky Letters and then the Root letters, the presentation will be the same. Children copy adult's work. They see the adults doing some work almost daily, children Love to imitate and copy them for eg kneading and rolling dough, it's a great exercise for fine motor skill development and to strengthen hand muscles for writing. When they get engaged in doing an activity that they enjoy, they can go on and on ....as a result they achieve a higher level of concentration.
